20230403 Redesigning for Higher Accuracy

Modified design so that the barrel is extended in order to allow for the marker to have more direction when being dropped instead of floating away. Also updated lid to remove screw and make it easier to remove and place.

20230318 Mounting and Underwater Testing

20230318 Mounting and Underwater Testing

Mounted MD design onto the sub and confirmed that it fit properly and did not interfere with other sensors or cameras. Tested MD design underwater and it worked. Used golf balls as markers and when released by control arms they would drift and not land in the designated location. Tested a new 3D printed control arm and it worked.

20230311 Testing the Dropper

Test fitted servo and mounts. Created a test bench using an arduino for performance verification.

20230222 Redesigning for Wiring

Redesigned MD design so that servo connection is placed upward in order to create a better connection space. Created a new mounting location and design in order to create a better connection space. Used through holes in the servo to mount it on to the MD design.

20230203 Selecting the New Servo

$215 Blue trail engineering Underwater Servo SER-2000 was chosen as the new underwater servo due to lower cost. Product is just the casing, we used a 2000 series servo inside.

20230203 Mounting Solution

Blue trail engineering Underwater Servo SER-2000 was implemented into the MD design. Previous mounting solution was not optimal so a new design was created. New t-shape mounts into the side of the MD design as well as on top of the robosub rail

20230128 Redesigning the Dropper

Blue Trail Engineering Underwater Servo SER-110X was implemented into the MD design. Control arm and hub mount was also implemented.

MD mount was designed to fit under robosub rails and attached to the top lid of the MD design

20230125 Selecting a Servo

Blue Trail Engineering Underwater Servo SER-110X was chosen as the underwater servo to be used for the design so CAD model was created to proper proportions

20230115 Prototyping

First integration of marker dropper was being designed with a normal servo

20230508 Tuning In the O-Ring Size

Parker handbook  4.3 Face Type Seals “Face type seals are sometimes rectangular. In designing such a seal to receive a standard O-ring, th...
